Edward M. Booth Jr.

Edward M. Booth Jr. , is a partner at Boyd & Jenerette, P.A. and practices from the Jacksonville office. His areas of practice include handling claims involving personal injury, mass tort disasters, premise liability, construction defects, contractual disputes, truck accidents, aviation accidents and property damage claims related to aircraft operations, suits against the federal government, criminal defense.

Mr. Booth received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Emory University in 1978. He was awarded his Juris Doctorate from The Florida State University College of Law in 1981.

He began his legal career in 1981 as an Assistant State Attorney for the Duval County State Attorney’s office where he handled over 30 felony jury trials. From 1985 through 2002, he was a partner with Booth, Arnold & Perez in Jacksonville handling a wide variety of civil and criminal litigation matters. From 2002 through 2007, he was a partner with Spohrer Wilner in Jacksonville handling a variety of complex civil litigation.

Mr. Booth is Board Certified in Aviation Law by The Florida Bar Board of Legal Education and Specialization. He has served as chairman of both The Florida Bar Aviation Law Certification Committee and The Florida Bar Aviation Law Committee. He served as chairman of The Florida Bar Grievance Committee, Fourth Judicial Circuit. He was the 2007-8 President of the Lawyer Pilots Bar Association, a 1,200 member international bar association founded in 1959.

Mr. Booth is an experienced pilot and holds a multi engine Air Transport License issued by the Federal Aviation Administration. He has over 3,500 hours of flight experience, and owns and operates a private aircraft that allows him to respond efficiently to the needs of his clients.

Mr. Booth is a member of The Florida Bar, the bar of the Supreme Court of the United States and is admitted to practice in numerous federal courts. He frequently lectures at seminars around the country on a variety of topics related to the handling of complex litigation.

He is active in the Jacksonville community as a 31-year member of the Rotary Club of South Jacksonville. He serves as a past president and current board member of the Jacksonville Historical Society, and has served as an advisor to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and the Episcopal Diocese of Florida.
